Back Pain Physical Therapy in Bellevue, WA
Your Back Can Handle More Than You Think.
Back pain that keeps interrupting your training, your work, or your sleep usually has a driver underneath it. We find what that is, treat it hands-on, and build your back back up to the loads and movements that matter to you.

Back Pain You Keep Working Around Doesn't Just Go Away.
Rest Helps Until You Load Your Back Again
Back pain often settles when you stop and flares the moment you lift, sit too long, or train again — because the thing driving it hasn't actually changed.
You're Working Around It, Not Through It
Avoiding bending, skipping deadlifts, and bracing all day gets you by. But the back still isn't right, and modifying everything only delays what needs to be addressed.
Other Areas Start Picking Up the Slack
When your back guards, your hips and mid-back absorb load they aren't meant to carry. Compensation rarely stays in one place, and new aches tend to follow.
Back Pain PT Built Around How You Actually Move
Back care at Continua Physio starts with understanding what's actually limiting you — how you bend, brace, load, and move. Hands-on treatment, exercise, and loading progressions follow from there — one provider, one plan, one hour at a time.

What Back Pain PT May Help Address
People come to us when back pain, stiffness, or tightness is limiting training, lifting, or daily movement. We look at what's driving it and address it from there.
Low Back Pain (Mechanical / Non-Specific) — Aching, stiffness, or sharp pain in the low back that flares with sitting, bending, or loading and keeps interrupting training, work, and daily movement.
Sciatica & Radiating Leg Pain — Pain, tingling, or a sharp line that travels from the low back into the glute or down the leg, often limiting how long you can sit, stand, or train comfortably.
Mid-Back & Thoracic Stiffness — Tightness or aching between the shoulder blades that builds with desk hours, lifting, or rotation and limits how freely you move under load.
Desk-Related & Postural Back Pain — Low- or mid-back pain that builds through a long day at a screen and lingers into your training — a loading and capacity issue more than a posture flaw.
Lifting & Training-Related Back Pain — Pain that shows up with deadlifts, squats, or heavy carries and keeps you cutting load — often a technique and capacity gap rather than something you simply can't do.
Back Pain That Flares With Running or Impact — Low back pain that builds during runs or repeated impact and forces you to back off mileage. Often addressed alongside running physical therapy.
Recurring or Chronic Low Back Flare-Ups — Back pain that quiets down, then returns every time you ramp activity back up — because the underlying driver has been managed, not addressed.
Arthritis-Related Back Stiffness — Morning stiffness and reduced range that interferes with bending, lifting, and activity — often manageable with the right loading and movement strategies.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions before your first back pain PT appointment at Continua Physio.
Your first appointment is a thorough evaluation — how your back moves, where it loads, and what's actually driving the pain. From there we build a plan that typically combines hands-on treatment, targeted exercise, and a structured progression. Every session is one-on-one with your physical therapist for the full hour.
It depends on what's driving the pain and how long it's been there. Many people notice meaningful changes within a few sessions. After your evaluation, we'll give you a realistic timeline — including what progress should look like at each stage and how long a full course of care usually runs.
No — you can come in without imaging or a prior diagnosis. We run our own movement assessment to understand what's limiting your back and what needs addressing. If imaging would be useful, we'll let you know. Most back pain can be fully evaluated and addressed without it.
In most cases, yes — and the right movement is often part of what helps. Avoiding everything tends to keep back pain around longer. We guide you through graded, specific loading your back can handle, then progress it as you get stronger and more confident.
Continua Physio is a cash-based practice. We don't bill insurance directly, but we provide superbills you can submit for potential out-of-network reimbursement. HSA and FSA payments are accepted. Check with your insurer about your out-of-network PT benefits before your first visit.
